21 Dezember 2007 - The Association of German Banks has launched a new section on its English website entitled “Banks and Consumers”. Ten topics ranging from current accounts to consumers' statutory cancellation rights and the association's Ombudsman Scheme provide the English-speaking public with an overview of the key features of a customer/bank relationship in Germany. The Association of German Banks thus now offers extensive information on consumer issues in English as well as German.
The private commercial banks' comprehensive consumer policy scheme is based on personal responsibility and partnership. It does not confine itself to informing and educating consumers. Wherever misunderstandings between customers and banks arise, these should be cleared up as soon as possible. The “fokus:verbraucher” series
The booklet “Banks and consumers – The comprehensive consumer policy scheme of the German private commercial banks” is published as part of the Association of German Banks' “fokus:verbraucher – Information for consumers from the German private banks” series, which offers information specifically targeting consumers.
